The concept of the Indianola project was to create a simple envelop, and to let the homes Art take center stage. This Project was developed in three phases. The first phase was the master bedroom, the second was the kitchen, and the third was the living area. The master bedroom was originally a very dark space, The Lawson Design Studio brought light into the space with vertical light coves, and worked with a custom craftsman to grace the fireplace with steel panels waxed to create a beautiful patina. The Kitchen was updated to reflect the beautiful surroundings of the home. A stainless counter and soapstone was used to reflect the inlet bay in the visa beyond. Plain slice maple with a white-wash stain was used to ?. The custom etched glass backsplash runs full height from counter top to the underside of the cabinets. The last phase consisted of opening the dining room up to the living room. Cabinets were design to house the entertainment center and are edged with light to bring more light into the space. A concrete fireplace with a glass mantel anchors the living room and custom balustrades were machined and are topped with a custom maple handrail. This guard rail allows light to flow from the east exposure. A new maple stair case joins the first floor to the walk bridge. Custom solid core maple doors were installed with concealed hinges create clean, pleasing lines.
